Niris Studio is located in Atlantic Beach, Florida about a mile from the ocean. Visitors will find a gallery displaying paintings and sculpture. There are also two studios to view works in progress. The indoor studio is dedicated to paintings. The outdoor studio is called “The Art Box” and is dedicated to stone and wood sculpture.
Atlantic Beach is a beautiful destination spot. The city’s Town Center offers many local shops, galleries and
restaurants to enjoy. It is within minutes of historic Mayport Village and offers lovely beaches, walking trails and lots of wildlife.
Over the past twenty years I have been fortunate to work with many talented models. Models bring energy and life to art. Pieces created while drawing from a live model radiate movement. I don’t think people realize how hard it is to hold poses for long periods of time while connecting emotionally with artists. This powerful work is done from the heart as well as the body. This must be true because modeling is notoriously under paid and under appreciated. The model knows how essential posing is for the artist and they give from their guts. It’s a collaboration and the model sacrifices ego for art. For any artist considering using models I have this to say………PAY MORE and give thanks. Your career depends on it. Having the luxury to work with a model makes the difference between bringing a piece to life as opposed to the work feeling flat and lifeless. If you think this is easy work try removing all of your clothes and remain in a standing pose for three hours. Then do it in front of a room full of strangers. Modeling is a great art.
